Wheellock Guns

For anyone interested in Wheelock guns, I recommend the 1982 book- Hans Schmidt von und zu Helding, Der “Kunstreiche” Büchsenschäfter von Ferlach (um 1600-1669) by Bruno Thomas.

The following introduction to the subject of the Wheel-Lock gun is from Claude Blair’s 1962 book European & American Arms.

The following images are from the May 19, 2022 Joh. Springer’s Erben auction, lot no. 301. It is a 12.5mm Wheelock rifle 70 cm long.
