Ogris,M.- Ferlach

Presently very little is known about Marcus / Markus Ogris and his firm which was founded in 1866. Ancestry.com lists three different Marcus Ogris’ born in Ferlach between 1835 and 1845.
The first is Markus Ogris-Born on April 23, 1845 to Primus Ogris and Maria Mack and passed away on Nov. 24, 1897 at the age of 54.
The second is Marcus Ogris-Born on April 22, 1835 to Kaspar Ogris and Maria Orasch
And the last is Marcus Ogris- Born on April 17, 1843 to Rupert Ogris and Katherina Sorgo.
The Welt-Ausstellung 1873 in Wien Amtlicher Catalog der Ausstellung der im Reichsrathe Vertretenen Koenigreiche un Laender Oesterreichs containds the following entry for Marcus Ogris: Gunmaker, 24 rifles, 30 workers.
In 1900 Markus Ogris took part in the Paris Exhibition and following is a portion of the book Österreich auf der Weltausstellung Paris 1900 by Erwin Pendl which covers classes 49-53.
The following advertisements were found in the 1887 Austrian periodical Waidmannsheil.

The 1928/1929 Industrie Compass in Östeareich carried a listing for M. Ogris, Gewehrefabrik in Ferlach which interpreted reads:
(1866) inherited by Josef Ogris, represented by Johann Schaschl-Ontschar and Josef Nagale with 90 employees.
